![]() I find so few characters who represent that concept in the first place that it’s already hard finding that representation, but then having it show up in a main character who is bad ass, twisted but also really thoughtful and a good guy in his own fucked up way, is just. And, for his own reasons, he is someone who is willing to say no to alcohol in an alcohol-obsessed world.Īs in, for the majority of the series the way he reacts to offers of alcohol, the way he reacts to people asking about his sexuality, the way he is so oblivious to things simply because it’s not even on his radar, and the way none of this is done solely to make him a punch line, the way none of it makes him look stupid or weak or broken or Less Than–I seriously fucking appreciate that so much I can’t even explain it. ![]() I’m not labeling him as ace because I honestly don’t know if I think that would even be accurate to say, but he reads as ace. One of the many, many reasons I love that kid is because he reads as the closest thing to an asexual-ish, non-drinking representation for a character I think I’ve ever read. I could go on and on about the series and won’t because that will seriously make this the longest post ever.īut what I will say is I really appreciate this series so freaking much, and this latest time I realized more overtly why I love Neil so much. My immediate response is always, “Well, have I got a rec for you!” and try to convince them to read Nora’s series.īut I’ve concluded at this point that the All For The Game Series being my favorite m/m series is not the whole truth. I have said many times that AFTG/TFC is my favorite m/m series and it’s always top of my list that I recommend to people, especially anyone who says ICoS was their introduction to m/m and now they’re lost on where to go next. So, I just finished rereading the All for the Game series by Nora Sakavic for the I-couldn’t-even-tell-you-the-number time and I’ve come to a conclusion. All For The Game/Foxhole Court series, I’m calling it my favorite
